Vietnam has made its intentions official by launching NDAChain, its new national blockchain platform. The objective of this effort is to enhance the nation’s digital infrastructure and accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology. NDAChain will act as a protective layer for Vietnam's live data, which is critical to the nation's digital society and economy.
Hosted on NDAChain, a Layer 1 permissioned blockchain featuring a consortium of 49 public-public validator nodes, state agencies and large private enterprises tend to run these nodes. Such organizations as the National Data Center organization, the Ministry of Public Security, SunGroup, Zalo, Masan, MISA, Sovico and VNVC.
By the end of 2025, NDAChain will be completely merged with the National Data Center to be a generic, specialized, data-sharing platform. That is, it will be trusted, transparent, and secure verification layer. The platform will be opened up to a broader variety of local governments and universities by 2026.
Vietnam's approach to NDAChain distinguishes itself through public-private collaboration, adherence to international standards such as W3C DID and GDPR, and deep integration with national data systems. This approach fits into Vietnam’s hybrid data architecture, which includes both centralized and decentralized features.
In this way, NDAChain allows Vietnamese enterprises to join global supply chains and develop consumer trust via authenticated origins of products. The NDAKey application that lives on NDAChain is what enables users to verify identities in an instant, helping nothing more than scams and impersonation.
The next phase of NDAChain will focus on workforce development, international collaboration, and building Layer 2 applications tailored for diverse sectors. Through NDAChain, the Vietnamese government hopes to create a secure, transparent, open, and scalable national digital environment.
Over 50 countries — from China’s BSN to the EU’s EBSI to South Korea’s Klaytn — have already rolled out their national blockchain platforms. NDAChain is a vivid manifestation of Vietnam’s desire for digitization, integration and sustainable development.
