Doodles, the blue chip Ethereum based NFT project, has officially announced their ecosystem token DOOD is going multi-chain to Solana. This launch features an airdrop of 30% of the total DOOD supply to Doodles NFT holders. While a simple move, this project is a big strategic play. It arrives through the auspices of their new CEO, Scott Martin, aka Burnt Toast.
Another 13% of the DOOD supply will go to Web3 communities outside of our own. The DOOD launch is a major step as well — the first significant initiative under Martin since he became chief executive in January. Trading for the DOOD token is already live.
His intent with Doodles Martin, the artistic genius behind the Doodles brand, is to take more risks. He hopes to move beyond what he’s termed Doodles’ previous “extractive corpo” efforts.
"We build wherever it makes the most sense." - Martin
Martin had been on the front lines of the censorship Doodles faced. He has focused on serving the needs of its crypto-native holders while continuing to make inroads as a consumer brand. The DOOD token is Webb’s answer to this problem, and he’s super bullish about it.
"DOOD is our answer to that exact tension." - Martin
According to Martin, Doodles is chain-agnostic. With DOOD, we’re bringing new utilities, which are coming soon. Doodles has recently launched activations such as DreamNet, with plenty more lined up in the pipeline!
Solana, of all places, has become a surprising central hub for this latest surge of meme coins. Doodles’ choice to release DOOD on Solana is a calculated move to leverage this fast-paced ecosystem.
"Web3 is the infrastructure powering what we do, but we’re building experiences that resonate far beyond the typical crypto crowd." - Martin
The launch of DOOD onto Solana is a big move for Doodles. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between appealing to its core crypto community and expanding its reach as a mainstream brand.
"We launched DOOD not to follow trends but because we believe in building real, long term, value for our community," - Martin
